Who they are?

They offer 360" solutions for all needs in retaining logistics, wholesale store logistics, and fulfillment. Their goal is to help companies optimize their logistics processes and successfully expand their eCommerce business.

Operating as a subsidiary of Manibia Verwaltungs GmbH, a robust parent company based in Mainz, they are backed by a substantial network. With a dedicated team of over 600 professionals, they have the support of a national network of 8,000 employees through their various sales companies.

What was my role in the project?

As the lead in the web development project, I collaborated closely with a colleague to ensure smooth progress.

What was the challenge?

We initially planned to develop the web design using webflow and a base theme. However, the client wanted to switch from webflow to WordPress while keeping our proposed design. Since these are two different CMS platforms, we had to consider the differences in capabilities and functionalities carefully.

What was my solution?

We made a new web development strategy to preserve our team's web design and adapt it to WordPress. Together, we delved into themes that mirrored our desired structure and functionality, creating a resource library that would save us from starting the entire development from scratch.

The primary goal of our web development strategy is to significantly increase the number of clicks, thereby acquiring new customers. This underscores the vital role each of us plays in the company's growth and success.

We found that the theme that best suited the needs we needed to meet was a new page builder (WPBakery) that only one colleague had mastered. He gave me a pair development to learn the basics of the tool and to be able to carry out the development with it. These were the phases of my process:

Phase 1

Defining the strategy to develop the website and selecting a theme and page builder—dialogue with the team to establish the action plan.

Phase 2

Time estimation of web development for each page and device in conjunction with the support developer.

Phase 3

Preparation of the WordPress environment (installation of the theme, Divi, and plugin required) and configuration of the elements of the design system.

Phase 4

Pair development, introductory to the new page builder, learn fundamental aspects of the layout and shortcodes. Implement the main pages for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Phase 5

Implement Über uns, Kontakt and News pages for desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Phase 6

Add modifications with CSS in certain places of the site that would require a change not allowed only with the page builder or theme.

Phase 7

During this phase, the QA for responsiveness, navigation, and functionality was also made, as was the incorporation of the cookie tool.

After the initial implementation and at the end, we conducted a thorough review with the client. We implemented the suggested changes, which were primarily minor adjustments to the design and functionality.

What did I deliver?

A static responsive website with images and graphics optimized for the web, with primary informative sections and with unique functions such as:

Slider with different content per slide and animated,
Cards carousel with icons and text,
Horizontal tabs with custom icons,
Full-width animated contact popups, and
Vertical tabs

We completed the entire web development for BestSolutions' corporate website. It included following the graphic line, creating template sections, developing global elements, optimizing images and vectors for web use, ensuring responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile design, fixing bugs, and providing guidance on updating content (images and text).

With my new knowledge, what would I improve for future projects similar to this one?

I suggest including animations and transitions between sections to make it more versatile.
